Material:

Both the base and the inner tray are made of PLA (Polylactic Acid) – a fully biodegradable, biodegradable, thermoplastic polymer derived from corn starch or sugar cane. The PLA used is produced from industrial waste and is therefore 100% recycled. It comes from Belgium or Germany. A French vegetable oil was added to plasticize the material and calcium carbonate was added to give it a matte, powdery, more attractive appearance while making the PLA more durable.
