What is the
konjac?
The name Konjac comes from the plant of the same name, native to Japan, China and Southeast Asia. Konjac is a potato like bulb with significant nutritional value, thanks to its high content of the plant substance glucomannan, a glucose polymer that does not burden the body with calories. Its advantages include the ability to absorb 100 to 200 times its weight, resulting in a gel. In China and Japan the konjac root is widely used mainly for its high fibre content and its detoxifying properties.
How is it made?
The process of turning the konjac bulb into cleaning and makeup remover sponges is similar to the process of preparing the cake. The root is pulverized into a powder and with the addition of water it is moulded into a “dough”. Calcium hydroxide – a stabilising agent – is then added, cooked and solidified. To the result of the above process is a natural product, 100% biodegradable, very skin-friendly. On the plus side, it is rich in vitamins and minerals, all valuable for good health. It is no coincidence that its original use was for the daily cleaning of babies!
It is very gentle and skin-friendly. What konjac does What makes it stand out is that it removes dirt and dust, stimulates microcirculation thanks to its gentle massage, but mainly because it acts as a mild exfoliator that deeply cleanses the pores.

Instructions for use:
How we use it. When we take the konjac sponge out of its packaging it is usually small in size, hard and dry. Before the first use, dip it in hot water for 15 minutes until it softens and swells. In the following days it is sufficient to wet it 1-2 minutes before each use. Then and every time we use the sponge:
- Place it between the palms and gently drain. Apply a small amount of the cleanser of your choice or use it alone on damp skin.
- Make gentle, circular movements in an upward direction except for the eye area. We insist especially on the T point of the face, where there is a tendency for intense oiliness.
- Rinse the konjac sponge with plenty of cool water and drain it by pressing it gently between your palms again. We never wring it out.
- Let it dry – away from bright light and moisture – until the next use.
- Every two weeks we make sure to clean the sponge systematically by placing it in very hot water for about 5 minutes.
- Replace it with a new one after 4-6 weeks of daily use.
